USJSAR is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit volunteer organization that operates under the authority and direction of the Archuleta County Sheriff's Office.
Volunteering for SAR is unlike any other volunteer opportunity you will be involved in. Volunteers respond to backcountry injuries, lost person reports, disaster and emergency situations and more. Learn more by clicking on the links below.
New Membership Requirements
What You can Expect
You must be 18 years of age or older to be a member of Upper San Juan Search and Rescue.
A background check will be processed by the Archuleta County Sheriff's office prior to application acceptance.
